Punjab government schemes now cover cash support, health, education, farming, housing, business and jobs. The problem for most families is not that help does not exist, but that it is scattered across dozens of portals in language that is hard to follow.
This page lists the major schemes in one place, with who each one is for.
Punjab government schemes: start with the two registries
Before the individual schemes, understand the two databases that decide most outcomes.
| PSER | NSER | |
|---|---|---|
| Run by | Government of Punjab | BISP, federal |
| Covers | Punjab only | All of Pakistan |
| Feeds | Punjab schemes | Kafaalat, Nashonuma, Taleemi Wazaif |
| SMS code | 8070 | 8171 |
| Register at | pser.punjab.gov.pk | BISP Tehsil Office |
If your household is in neither, most schemes cannot see you at all — regardless of how genuine your need is. That is why registration comes before applications.
Read PSER online registration and what is NSER. Both are free.

What order to apply in
Seeing a list this long is overwhelming. The practical order is:
First: get your CNIC valid and hold one SIM in your own name. Nothing else works without these, and they are the cheapest things on this page to fix.
Second: register in PSER, and in NSER too if you want federal support. These are the surveys selection is drawn from.
Third: apply for the specific scheme that matches your situation — disability, farming, widowhood, a daughter in school, or unemployment.
Fourth: check your status and keep your records updated as your circumstances change.
Most people start at step three and are puzzled when nothing happens. Steps one and two are the foundation everything else rests on.
How to spot a scheme that is not real
New Punjab schemes are announced often, and fake versions appear within days. Before acting on anything you have been sent:
- Does it appear on a .gov.pk website? If not, treat it as unconfirmed.
- Is a helpline given, and does it match the official one?
- Does it ask for money? Every genuine scheme is free.
- Does it promise guaranteed approval? No genuine scheme does.
- Is the amount specific and sourced, or a round number in a forwarded message?
A WhatsApp forward is not an announcement. When in doubt, check the department’s own site or call its helpline.
The rules that apply to all of them
Whatever you apply for:
- Registration is free. Always.
- 8171 and 8070 cost nothing and deduct no balance.
- Nobody can change your PMT score or add your name to a list.
- Never share an OTP, including with someone claiming to be an official.
- Use only official portals, which end in
.gov.pk. - Keep your CNIC valid and hold a SIM registered in your own name — see our CNIC and SIM check guide.
Report anyone demanding money through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
Not sure where you fit?
Our free eligibility checker asks a few plain questions and shows which programmes may suit your household. It never asks for your CNIC and stores nothing.
