A MEPCO bill check online takes less than a minute on the official web bill page, bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill. It is run by the Power Information Technology Company (PITC), which runs the official web bill portal for 11 power distribution companies. The MEPCO Bill link in the menu of MEPCO’s own website opens this same page. You only need the reference number from an old bill. Checking is free, and you do not need to register or log in.

MEPCO stands for Multan Electric Power Company. Its website says it serves 13 districts in South Punjab through nine zones: Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Vehari. If your bill comes from another company, this guide does not apply to you. See our guides for LESCO, FESCO, GEPCO and IESCO instead.

MEPCO bill check online in 3 steps

  1. Open the official page, bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill. Its heading reads MEPCO Web Bill, Powered by PITC, and the form says Search Your Electricity Bill.
  2. Keep Reference No selected and type your 14 digit reference number with no spaces. In the small box next to it, choose U or R to match your bill.
  3. Press Search. Your latest bill opens, and you can print it or save it as a PDF.

That is all. The page does not ask for your CNIC, phone number or any payment.

The official ways to get your MEPCO bill

As of October 2026, there are two official ways to see your bill on a phone or computer. Both are free.

MEPCO has no separate bill search form on its own website; its menu link opens the PITC page. The PITC home page lists all 11 distribution companies, so make sure you pick MEPCO.

Your reference number explained

The reference number is the key to your bill. It is printed on every MEPCO bill. The search box on the official page says Enter 14-digit valid reference no, so type all 14 digits, with no spaces or dashes.

Next to the box is a small menu with U and R. The page selects U by default, so change it to R only if your bill shows R after the reference number.

You can also search by Customer ID. Tap that option above the box and type the number instead.

Lost every old bill? Ask a family member for a photo of a recent bill, or visit a MEPCO customer service centre. The same number is also used for some government schemes, for example the CM Punjab Solar Scheme asked for it.

How to download or print a duplicate bill

When your bill opens on the PITC page, use your browser’s print option. On a phone, tap the menu, then Print or Share, then Save as PDF. PITC says the page gives you a duplicate bill “for payment at any branch”.

If you cannot print at home:

  • Save the bill as a PDF and print it at any shop.
  • Or visit your nearest MEPCO customer service centre. MEPCO’s FAQ says duplicate bills are available there. NEPRA’s Consumer Service Manual adds that the subdivision office and customer service centres can issue a duplicate bill on the same day.

MEPCO’s FAQ also says that if you often do not receive your bill on time, you should contact your subdivision office. MEPCO’s head office is on Khanewal Road, Multan.

How to pay your MEPCO bill

MEPCO publishes the NEPRA Consumer Service Manual (revised November 2025) on its Customer Service Manual page. It says:

  • all commercial bank branches and post offices in the city or district where your connection is can collect electricity bills
  • NADRA kiosks can also collect electricity bills
  • online payment, ATM card or credit card payment, or a crossed cheque at a designated bank branch is possible where available

Keep the paid bill or the transaction message. If the payment shows again on your next bill as arrears, MEPCO’s FAQ says you can get it corrected by showing the paid receipt at your subdivision, a customer service centre or the bank branch.

Due date and late payment surcharge

Your bill shows a due date. Under the NEPRA Consumer Service Manual:

  • The due date is within 15 days of the bill being issued, and you should get at least 7 clear days after the bill reaches you.
  • If the due date falls on a holiday, it moves to the next working day.
  • If you pay after the due date, a late payment surcharge is added. The bill shows the amount payable after the due date.
  • If the due date is extended for you, no late payment surcharge is charged.

The MEPCO SMART app lists Due Date Extension and Request for installment options. The manual says that if you ask for the current month’s bill in installments, there is no markup or surcharge when the first installment is paid by the due date. The remaining installments carry markup at 14% a year. Rules and amounts can change, so read the payment instructions printed on your bill.

MEPCO complaints and helpline

For bill and supply complaints, these are the official channels:

  • Call 118, or 0800-63726, both listed in MEPCO’s FAQ
  • MEPCO Head Quarter numbers 061-9220313, 061-9220314 and 061-9220317, also from MEPCO’s FAQ
  • CCMS web portal at ccms.pitc.com.pk. MEPCO’s website links it as its Complaint Cell. The portal also lists SMS 8118 and the email ccms@pitc.com.pk
  • MEPCO SMART app, which has Complaints, Track Complaints and NEPRA Complaints options
  • MEPCO’s Contact page lists 0319-9757789 and rcc@mepco.com.pk

For a wrong meter reading on your bill, MEPCO’s FAQ says to contact the customer service centre of your area or MEPCO Head Quarter. For other helpline numbers in the province, see our Punjab helpline numbers guide. If a complaint is ignored, you can also escalate it through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.

Beware of fake bill apps and websites

Checking a MEPCO bill is free. Watch for these:

  • Unofficial bill websites and apps that copy the MEPCO name. They are not run by MEPCO. The official bill page is bill.pitc.com.pk/mepcobill, and MEPCO’s website is mepco.com.pk.
  • Requests to send money to a person. The CCMS portal warns: never send money for bills, meters, repairs, bill adjustment or a new connection through Easypaisa, JazzCash or a direct bank transfer to any individual’s account. Report such calls or messages to the 118 helpline.
  • Anyone asking for your OTP, bank PIN or card number. MEPCO never needs them to show you a bill.
  • Agents who offer to “reduce” a bill for a fee. Bill corrections are made only through MEPCO itself.

Paying other government dues too? See our guides to token tax in Punjab and property tax in Punjab.

GoPunjab is an independent website. We are not MEPCO or PITC, we cannot see anyone’s bill, and we do not collect payments. Always check and pay through the official channels.
