The PEEF Scholarship is a monthly stipend from the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund for talented students from low-income families. This guide explains who is eligible, how much it pays, how PEEF chooses students, and where things stand as of September 2026.
One thing surprises many families: for most PEEF scholarships you do not apply at all. PEEF finds top students through board results and contacts them. Only two categories take applications, and both open at set times of year.
What is the PEEF Scholarship?
PEEF stands for the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund. It is a not-for-profit company, registered under section 42 of the companies law in December 2008, and listed by Punjab’s Higher Education Department as one of its initiatives. It started awarding scholarships in 2009.
PEEF says that as of 31 December 2025 it had awarded more than 492,000 scholarships, worth more than Rs 30 billion, to students in Punjab and other provinces.
The official website is peef.punjab.gov.pk. PEEF’s older address, peef.org.pk, shows the same pages, but in September 2026 browsers showed a security warning on it because its security certificate had expired. Use the punjab.gov.pk address.
PEEF Scholarship status in September 2026
- No 2026-27 round has been announced on the official website as of mid-September 2026.
- Special Quota 2025-26 is closed. Its advert gave 18 November 2025 as the last date, and the registration page now says “Closed”.
- Past timing: the Special Quota advert was posted on 8 November 2023, 29 September 2024 and 29 September 2025. Keep an eye on the official website’s News page from late September.
- Master’s level 2025-26: forms were posted in December 2025, and each partner university set its own deadline.
- Outreach scholarships need no application. If you did well in your 2026 board exams and meet the rules, PEEF may contact you by letter.
PEEF Scholarship eligibility
For Intermediate and graduation level scholarships, PEEF’s published rules include:
- At least 60% marks in the Matric or Intermediate annual exam of a Punjab board or the Federal Board
- A declared family income of Rs 60,000 a month or less, from all sources
- Full-time admission in a regular institution in the same year you passed the exam
- Not holding any other scholarship in the same academic year
You are not eligible if you passed in a supplementary exam, improved your marks, or passed with grace marks.
Two groups are exempt from the income limit: children of government employees in BPS 1 to 4, if salary is the only income, and children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks.
For Master’s level, you need at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 2.5 at graduation, full-time admission at a PEEF partner university, and the same Rs 60,000 income limit. Students who already hold a Master’s or MPhil degree are not eligible.
How much PEEF pays
PEEF’s published stipend rates for 2025:

The stipend is paid twice a year through your institution. It continues until you finish your degree, as long as your results stay satisfactory and you are not involved in any disciplinary case. Rates can change, so confirm the current figure with PEEF.
These rates are a stipend. PEEF’s official stipend table does not list tuition fees for these scholarships, so treat any website that promises “100% fee coverage” from PEEF with caution.
Types of PEEF scholarships
- Outreach scholarships (80%). PEEF takes results from all Punjab boards and the Federal Board and contacts students with top positions in each tehsil and subject group. No advert, no application.
- Special Quota (20%). For six groups: orphans, children of BPS 1 to 4 government employees, minority students, students with disabilities, children of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks, and children of divorced mothers.
- Master’s level. Quotas at partner universities, which advertise and select students themselves.
- Other groups. PEEF also runs quotas for students from other provinces and AJK, technical board students, and centres of excellence such as LUMS, NUST and FAST, each chosen through that partner.
For 2025-26, PEEF’s annual report planned 15,000 new scholarships across all categories.
How to apply or get selected
Outreach: PEEF posts a letter and form to your home or school address. You fill it in, have it verified by the officer named in the letter (usually your institution’s head), and send it back to PEEF.
Special Quota: when PEEF advertises, you apply online through the link in its official advert. You upload the certificate for your category, for example a father’s death certificate for orphans or a DHQ or THQ disability certificate. Shortlisted students then receive a form at home. Keep the diary number the system gives you.
Master’s: get the form from the PEEF website or your university’s financial aid office, and submit it to your university’s PEEF focal person. PEEF says it will not accept forms sent directly to its office.
Documents you usually need
- Your CNIC or B-Form, and your father’s CNIC
- A copy of your result card
- A recent 2x2 inch photo on a white background
- An income affidavit on legal stamp paper, attested by a gazetted officer, in PEEF’s format
- Your domicile, for Master’s level
- The Special Quota certificate for your category, if you apply under it
Enter your name, marks and CNIC exactly as they appear on your documents. Wrong or incomplete information leads to rejection.
PEEF and Honhaar are different
The CM Honhaar Scholarship is a separate Punjab program. It is sponsored by the Higher Education Department and run by the Punjab Higher Education Commission, not by PEEF. As of September 2026, its portal was open only to students from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and no new round for Punjab students had been announced. PEEF’s rules say you must not hold another scholarship in the same academic year, so check both sets of rules before you accept one. See our Honhaar guide.
Stay safe from fraud
- PEEF does not charge an application fee. The only cost is the stamp paper for your affidavit.
- PEEF only advertises for Special Quota and Master’s scholarships. For everything else, it contacts students itself.
- Use only the official website, peef.punjab.gov.pk, and never pay an agent who promises a scholarship.
- Never share your OTP or password with anyone.
If someone demands money, report it through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
