Kisan Card registration is how farmers in Punjab apply for the CM Punjab Kisan Card and its interest-free seasonal loan. This guide explains how to apply, who can apply, what documents you need, and how the loan works, in simple steps.

The Kisan Card is a Punjab government scheme that gives small and medium farmers an interest-free loan each crop season to buy inputs like seeds, fertiliser, and pesticides. It is run through the Agriculture Department.

Two ways to apply

You can start your Kisan Card application in two ways:

  1. By SMS to 8070 — the quickest way. Send your details from the mobile registered on your CNIC.
  2. In person at your nearest Agriculture Department office, where staff can help you.

How to register for the Kisan Card, step by step

Step 1: Apply by SMS or at an office

For SMS, type PKC, leave a space, then your 13-digit CNIC without dashes, and send it to 8070. Send it from the mobile number registered on your own CNIC. Or visit your nearest Agriculture Department office to apply in person.

Step 2: Complete biometric verification

You verify your identity with your fingerprint. This confirms you are the real applicant.

The Kisan Card is linked to a bank account. You open or link the account that your card will use.

Step 4: Receive your Kisan Card

Once your application is approved, you collect your card. You then use it for your seasonal loan.

Documents and requirements

Keep these ready, and make sure they are in order:

  • A valid CNIC (you must be a permanent Punjab resident)
  • Agricultural land that you own or lease, with the record available in PLRA (the land record authority)
  • A mobile SIM registered on your own CNIC
  • No loan default in your name

How the loan works

As of 2026, the Kisan Card offers an interest-free loan of up to Rs 150,000 per crop season. The money is meant for farm inputs such as seeds, fertiliser, and pesticides. The exact limit can depend on the size of your landholding. Because scheme details can change, treat any figure as “as of” its date and confirm the current limit on the official Agriculture Department page.

Apply early

Places can be limited and are often given on a first-come, first-served basis, so it helps to apply as soon as registration is open for your area.
