The Green Tractor Scheme, officially the Chief Minister’s Punjab Green Tractor Program, gives Punjab farmers a large subsidy on a new tractor. As of September 2026, Phase 4 is closed to new applications: the official portal says the last date was 5 September 2026. This guide explains what Phase 4 offers, who could apply, how the ballot works, what winners must pay, and what to watch for next.
If you applied, keep your CNIC, the mobile number you used and your application details ready for the ballot. If you missed it, there is nothing to apply to right now, so ignore any website or message that says otherwise.
Green Tractor Scheme status in September 2026
Here is what the official sources and news reports say, as of September 2026:
- Phase 4 applications are closed. The official portal, gts.punjab.gov.pk, says: “We are not accepting any new applications for the Green-Tractors Phase 4 as the last date to apply was 05 September 2026.”
- Go by the portal’s date. When applications opened in August 2026, The Nation reported the last date as 31 August 2026. The official portal gives 5 September 2026 as the final last date.
- The ballot comes next. Winners are picked by digital ballot. We found no official date for the Phase 4 ballot yet.
- More tractors are planned for 2026-27. In June 2026, the Express Tribune and ProPakistani reported that the Chief Minister had directed 20,000 Green Tractors for the 2026-27 financial year, with a subsidy of Rs 750,000 on 50 to 65 horsepower tractors and Rs 1.5 million on high-horsepower tractors. Phase 4 is the low-horsepower round of 10,000 tractors. We found no official application round for high-horsepower tractors as of September 2026.

The name, subsidy, land rule and horsepower come from the Agriculture Department’s official Phase 4 application form. The number of tractors and the helpline hours come from the department’s August 2026 announcement, as reported by The Nation.
Who could apply in Phase 4
The official Phase 4 form lists these conditions. You had to:
- Be a resident of Punjab
- Hold a valid computerised CNIC
- Have verified ownership of at least 5 acres of agricultural land
You could not apply if:
- You got a subsidised tractor in Phase 1, 2 or 3 of the Green Tractor Program
- You got one under the Wheat Incentive Programme
- You are a Kisan Card defaulter
The form also says the Agriculture Department can check your land ownership and details through the revenue record or a field visit. Make sure your land is correctly recorded in your name before any future phase. Our Punjab land record guide shows how to check it.
The land rule has changed over time. Phase 1 in 2024 was open to owners of 1 to 50 acres, while Phases 3 and 4 asked for at least 5 acres. Many websites still show the old rule, so always go by the official form for the phase you are applying in.
What you get and what you pay
If you are selected in the digital ballot, the official form says you get a subsidy of Rs 750,000 (7.5 lakh). The government pays that part of the price. The rest is yours to pay.
- You chose the tractor company and model (50 to 65 horsepower) when you applied. The form says this cannot be changed later.
- After you get your allotment letter, you must deposit, within the set time, your own share of the tractor price plus the registration fee, card fee, number plate fee and transfer fee.
- Your share is the price of the model you chose, minus the subsidy, so it differs from farmer to farmer.
Deadlines matter. After the Phase 3 ballot in February 2026, winners were given until 31 March 2026, after an extension, to collect their allotment letters and pay their share (APP). A winner who does not pay on time can lose the tractor.
How the Phase 4 application worked
This is how farmers applied in August and September 2026. A future phase may work differently, so follow its own official notice.
- Computerised mauza: farmers whose village land record is computerised applied online on the program portal, gts.punjab.gov.pk, also linked from agripunjab.gov.pk.
- Non-computerised mauza: farmers downloaded the application form from the Agriculture Department website, or got it free from their Agriculture Extension office, and handed it to the office of the Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension).
- Applicants entered their personal and land details and chose a tractor model.
- Eligible applications go into the digital ballot.
The portal login asks for your CNIC, password and a captcha. If you applied and cannot log in, call the helpline rather than paying anyone to “check” for you.
How the ballot works
Demand is far higher than supply. Business Recorder reported that 427,000 farmers applied for Phase 3, which had 10,000 tractors. That is why selection is by a computerised random ballot:
- Being eligible does not guarantee a tractor.
- No one can move your name up the list. Anyone who claims they can, for a fee, is running a scam.
- If you are selected, you will need to collect your allotment letter and pay your share within the time set.

How the Green Tractor Scheme has changed
The subsidy, tractor sizes and land rules are different in every phase. This is why old figures on other websites are often wrong.

Stay safe from fraud
- Use only gts.punjab.gov.pk and agripunjab.gov.pk. The paper form was free at Agriculture Extension offices.
- Phase 4 is closed. Any website or message taking Green Tractor applications or a “registration fee” now is not official.
- Nobody can guarantee a tractor. Selection is by ballot.
- Pay your share only in the way your official allotment letter says, never into an agent’s personal account.
- Never share an OTP or password with anyone.
Report anyone who asks for money through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
