The CM Punjab Internship Program is the Punjab government’s paid internship for fresh graduates, launched by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department in 2024. This guide explains its status as of September 2026, what it paid, who it was for, and which other paid government internships in Punjab you can look at now.
The short answer: the general program has not announced a new round since 2024, but several department internships carry the Chief Minister’s name in 2026, and some pay much more.
Is the CM Punjab Internship Program open in 2026?
Not the general one, as far as the official record shows. As of September 2026:
- The program’s official page on punjab.gov.pk still describes the 2024 intake, with a last date of 30 September 2024.
- The first phase started in December 2024, with 6,000 graduates receiving Rs 25,000 a month (The News report).
- In March 2025, Punjab’s Youth Affairs minister announced plans for a bigger next phase, with up to Rs 60,000 a month, up to 10,000 places and a one-year term (Dawn report).
- We found no official launch of that next phase. The 2024 application portal was not working when we checked.
So if a website or WhatsApp message says “CM Punjab Internship 2026, apply here”, check it against the official page before you share anything. If a new round is announced, it will appear on punjab.gov.pk and in national newspapers.

News reports said the interns were placed in government institutions, and that the Bank of Punjab handled the stipend payments.
CM internships running in 2026
Several departments now run their own paid internships under the Chief Minister’s name. Each has its own rules, portal and dates:

Amounts are as the official portals or adverts showed them in September 2026, except the Climate and Veterinary stipends, which come from APP news reports. Confirm them on the portal before you rely on any figure.
CM IT Internship
Run by the Punjab Information Technology Board with software industry bodies, it places unemployed IT graduates in IT companies. The official portal, cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk, lists:
- At least 16 years of education in computer science, IT, data science, cyber security, graphic design or a closely related field
- Graduated in the last 4 years, and currently unemployed
- A Punjab CNIC and domicile
- Rs 50,000 a month for 4 months, linked to attendance and monthly progress reports
The portal’s FAQ says candidates who have already done a government internship are not eligible. In August 2026, the program opened registration for companies for its next round (ProPakistani report). Check the portal for when candidate registration opens.
CM Tourism Internship
Run by the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department at mpip.punjab.gov.pk. It is for Punjab-domiciled graduates aged 21 to 28 with 16 years of education in fields such as tourism and hospitality, history, archaeology, business, media or the arts. It pays up to Rs 60,000 a month for 3 months. The Phase II deadline was 15 September 2026. The portal warns: do not pay any fee to anyone for this application.
CM Climate Leadership Internship
Run by the Environment Protection Agency and linked from epd.punjab.gov.pk. It is for graduates aged 20 to 27 with at least 75% marks or a 3.0 CGPA, who are not working or studying during the internship. It runs in batches of 250, with half the seats for women, and pays Rs 60,000 a month for 3 months (APP report). ProPakistani reported that Batch III of Phase II was taking applications until 18 September 2026. The EPA helpline is 1373.
Agriculture and veterinary internships
The Agriculture Department’s official advert, posted in August 2026, lists a Rs 70,000 monthly stipend for 1,500 agriculture graduates a year. Ask the agriculture helpline 0800-17000 (8 am to 8 pm daily) about the current round in your district.
The Livestock Department’s 2026-27 internship for veterinary graduates and para-vets took applications on the Punjab Job Portal until 15 May 2026 (APP report).
How to apply for any of these
The steps are similar for most CM internships:
- Open the official portal for that internship. Check that the address ends in .gov.pk.
- Read the eligibility carefully, especially the age limit, your degree subject and graduation year.
- Register and fill in your details exactly as they appear on your documents.
- Upload clear scans of your CNIC, degree and domicile.
- Submit before the deadline, then keep your phone and email working for interview or selection messages.
Selection is usually on merit. For CM IT, the host company also interviews shortlisted candidates before final selection.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying to the wrong program. Each internship has its own subjects and age limit. A tourism degree will not qualify for CM IT.
- Details that do not match your documents. Enter your name, CNIC and degree exactly as printed.
- Waiting for a general round that is not open. Look at the department internships instead.
- Treating it as a job. None of these internships gives permanent employment.
Stay safe from fraud
- Applying is free. The Tourism portal says in writing that you should not pay any fee to anyone.
- No agent can get you selected or skip you past the merit list.
- Never share your OTP or password, and never pay into a personal bank or mobile wallet account.
If someone asks you for money, report it through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
