Maryam Ki Dastak is a Punjab government programme that brings government services to your front door. Instead of travelling to an office and standing in a queue, you book a service and a trained, registered facilitator comes to your home to handle the paperwork.

The programme is run through the Dastak platform, and it is aimed particularly at people for whom visiting a government office is genuinely difficult.

Who the programme is designed for

Any citizen in a covered district can use it, but the government has specifically designed it to help:

  • Senior citizens who cannot travel or wait in long queues
  • Persons with disabilities for whom offices are hard to reach
  • Women who may not be able to visit offices easily
  • Working people who cannot take a day off to visit an office

If you have ever lost a day’s wages waiting at an office for a single certificate, this is the problem the programme is meant to solve.

What services you can get

Dastak works as a one-stop platform for Punjab government services. As of 2026 it draws on departments including:

  • DLIMS, for driving licence services
  • Board of Revenue, for land and revenue records
  • Excise and Taxation, for vehicle-related services
  • Local Government, for civil certificates
  • Development authorities, such as the LDA

Commonly requested items include:

  • Domicile certificates
  • Birth, death, and marriage certificates
  • Vehicle transfer and registration services
  • E-stamping

The service list keeps growing, so check the app or portal for what is currently available in your district.

A trained, registered facilitator visits your home and completes the paperwork for you.

How to book, step by step

Step 1: Choose how to book

You have three official routes:

  1. The Dastak Citizen App, from Google Play or the App Store
  2. The web portal, dastak.punjab.gov.pk
  3. The helpline 1202, which matters most for people who are not comfortable with apps

Step 2: Register with your CNIC

Sign up with your CNIC and basic details, and verify your mobile number. Use a number registered on your own CNIC.

Step 3: Select the service

Pick the service you need. Before confirming, read:

  • The documents you must have ready
  • The fee
  • The expected turnaround time

Step 4: Pick a time slot

Choose a time when an adult who can provide the documents will be at home.

Step 5: The facilitator visits

A registered facilitator arrives, checks your documents, and submits your application digitally.

Step 6: Track your application

You receive a tracking ID. Use it in the app or on the portal to follow progress. The completed document is then delivered to your doorstep.

What the fees are

Two things can appear on your bill:

  1. The normal government fee for that service, which you would pay at an office anyway
  2. A possible service charge for doorstep delivery

A fee structure is published on the official portal. Check it before you book so you know what to expect.

Pay through the official app or against a proper receipt. A facilitator asking for extra cash “for the office” is not following the rules, and you should report it on 1202.

Who the facilitators are

Facilitators are not random agents. To be registered, a candidate must generally:

  • Be 18 or older
  • Have at least intermediate education
  • Provide a police character certificate
  • Have a motorbike and a valid driving licence
  • Own a working smartphone or tablet
  • Pass a screening test, with a reported minimum score of 70 percent
  • Complete training by PITB

If you want to become a facilitator, you apply through the Dastak Facilitator App, which is separate from the citizen app.

Staying safe

  • Only deal with a facilitator booked through the official app, portal, or 1202.
  • Ask to see identification before handing over documents.
  • Prefer giving copies, and keep your originals unless the service genuinely requires them.
  • Never share an OTP sent to your phone.
  • Get a receipt for anything you pay.
  • Report problems on 1202 or through the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.

Where Dastak is available

The programme began as a pilot and has been expanding across Punjab districts, reported at around 40 districts as of 2026. Coverage and the exact service list differ by district and keep changing, so confirm on the official portal or by calling 1202 before you rely on it.

Dastak and e-Khidmat Markaz

These two are complements, not rivals:

  • e-Khidmat Markaz is a physical one-window centre you visit.
  • Maryam Ki Dastak brings a facilitator to you.

If you can travel comfortably, an e-Khidmat Markaz may be quicker. If travelling is hard, Dastak is the better option. For individual services you can also read our guides to Punjab domicile online, birth certificates, and driving licence online.
