The Benazir Nashonuma Program is a BISP nutrition program for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under two years in low-income families. This guide explains who is eligible, the stipend, the documents you need, and how to register, in simple words.
The program gives a quarterly nutrition stipend plus health and nutrition support to fight child malnutrition. It works alongside the Benazir Kafaalat stipend.
Who is eligible
Eligibility is for BISP-registered (NSER) low-income families who are:
- Pregnant women
- Lactating mothers
- Families with a child under two years
A qualifying poverty score is required, and children usually need an EPI vaccination card. Confirm the current criteria at a Nashonuma centre or on the official BISP portal.
How much is the stipend
Reported amounts are around Rs 2,000 per quarter for pregnant or lactating women and male children, and about Rs 2,500 for registered female children. Figures vary between sources and can change, so treat them as “as of” their date and confirm the current amount at your Nashonuma centre.
How to register
Registration is done in person at a Benazir Nashonuma centre, usually at THQ and DHQ hospitals, with biometric verification.
- Visit your nearest Nashonuma centre.
- Bring your documents (below) for verification.
- Complete biometric registration.
- Attend the regular sessions, which are required to keep receiving the stipend.
