PPSC online apply is the process for competing for Punjab government posts recruited by the Punjab Public Service Commission. This guide explains how to register, complete your application correctly, pay the fee, and avoid the mistakes that get applications rejected.
The only official website is ppsc.gop.pk. The Commission itself states that its official website is the sole authoritative source for all advertisements.
What PPSC is, and how it differs from the Job Portal
The Punjab Public Service Commission recruits candidates for Punjab government posts through competitive tests and interviews. Its role is to select on merit rather than leaving hiring to individual departments.
This matters because Punjab has two different routes for government jobs, and applying in the wrong place wastes your time:

Before you apply: read the advertisement properly
PPSC advertisements are numbered, for example Advertisement No. 08/2026, and each contains several posts. Before applying, check:
- The post and its grade
- The minimum qualification, and whether your degree is recognised for it
- The age limit, and any age relaxation you may be entitled to
- The domicile requirement
- Any experience requirement, and how it must be evidenced
- The fee for that post
- The closing date
If you do not meet the stated criteria, your application will normally be rejected at scrutiny, and the fee is not refunded.
PPSC online apply: the full process, step by step
Step 1: Open the official website
Go to ppsc.gop.pk and open the current advertisements section. Be careful with private job websites using similar names. They copy advertisements, often late or with errors, and cannot submit your application.
Step 2: Create your candidate profile
Register on the online application system with:
- Your CNIC
- A working email address you can actually open
- An active mobile number
Your profile is reused for future applications, so complete it properly once.
Step 3: Complete your profile details
Enter your education, experience, and personal details.
Enter everything exactly as it appears on your documents. If your name is spelled differently on your CNIC and your degree, resolve that first. Mismatches between your form and your documents are one of the most common reasons candidates are rejected at scrutiny or at the interview stage.
Step 4: Apply for the post
Select the advertisement and the specific post, then complete the application form and upload the required scans, typically your photograph and certificates.
Step 5: Pay the challan fee
Generate the challan form from the system and pay it at the designated bank or through the online payment option. PPSC publishes guidance, including a “how to deposit fee online” walkthrough and an apply-online guide, under its Facilitation Desk section.
An unpaid challan means your application does not count, even if the form was submitted. Keep the paid receipt.
Step 6: Submit and save proof
Review the form, submit it before the closing date, and save or print the confirmation.
Documents to prepare in advance
Scan these clearly before you start:
- CNIC
- Domicile certificate
- Educational degrees and result cards
- Experience certificates, if required
- A recent passport-size photograph
- The paid fee challan

After you apply
Keep logging in to your profile. PPSC publishes on its website and in your account:
- Roll number slips
- Test dates and centres
- Written test results
- Interview calls
- Final recommendations
Do not wait for a letter in the post. Announcements appear online first.
How the selection process works
Knowing the stages helps you prepare rather than simply wait.
- Scrutiny. Your application is checked against the advertisement’s criteria. Most rejections happen here, and they are usually about qualification, age, domicile, or an unpaid fee.
- Written test. Many posts require a written test, often including general knowledge, English, and subject-specific questions.
- Shortlisting. Candidates above a cut-off proceed.
- Interview. Conducted by the Commission, usually with your original documents verified at this stage.
- Final recommendation. Successful candidates are recommended to the department.
Bring original documents to the interview. A candidate who cannot produce an original degree or domicile can be knocked out at the last stage after clearing the test.
How to prepare for the written test
- Study the syllabus in the advertisement rather than a generic guide, since papers differ by post.
- Practise past papers, which PPSC and many libraries make available.
- Work on English and general knowledge, which appear across most papers.
- Revise your subject specialism thoroughly for technical posts.
- Practise timed papers, since running out of time is a common failure.
Be careful with paid “guaranteed selection” academies and leaked-paper claims. Papers are not for sale, and anyone selling one is defrauding you.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying on a private website instead of ppsc.gop.pk
- Submitting the form but never paying the challan
- Details that do not match your documents
- Applying for a post you are not qualified for, which forfeits the fee
- Missing the closing date, as late applications are not accepted
- Using an email you cannot open, since notifications go there
- Paying an agent. No one can arrange a PPSC selection. Selection is by test and interview, and anyone claiming otherwise is defrauding you.
