The two documents work together:

  • Union Council death certificate — registers the death locally and issues the certificate.
  • NADRA computerized death certificate — accepted for inheritance, pension, bank, and legal cases, and used to cancel the deceased’s CNIC.

Both come from the same registered record. Because most offices now ask for the NADRA computerized certificate, it is usually worth getting it.

Documents you need

Keep clear copies ready. You usually need:

  • The deceased person’s CNIC
  • The informant’s CNIC (usually a close family member)
  • The date and place of death
