A NADRA tracking ID check tells you where your CNIC, NICOP, FRC or B-Form application has reached. As of September 2026, the official place to do it is NADRA’s PakID mobile app, listed as Pak Identity on Google Play and the App Store. You need two things: your tracking ID and its PIN. This guide shows where to find them, every official way to track, and what to do if your card is late.
NADRA tracking ID check in 3 steps
- Open the PakID app and log in. Install it only from the store links on nadra.gov.pk.
- Tap Tracking on the home screen.
- Enter your tracking ID and PIN code. The app shows the latest status of your application.
These steps come from NADRA’s own PakID FAQ. Tracking is free.

Where your tracking ID and PIN are
Your tracking ID is the number NADRA gives each application. The PIN is a short code that goes with it. You need both to track, and NADRA also asks for them when you upload documents, pay, or ask a relative to attest your form.
| How you applied | Where to find the tracking ID and PIN |
|---|---|
| In the PakID app | Tap the Applications icon on the home screen. Every application is listed with its tracking ID and PIN. |
| At a NADRA center | On your receipt. ProPakistani reported in September 2026 that NADRA told applicants to use the tracking ID and PIN from their receipt. |
| Through a relative’s PakID account | In that relative’s account, under Applications. Ask them to share the tracking ID and PIN with you. |
At a NADRA center, NADRA’s steps are: take a token, give your photo and fingerprints, have your data checked, pay the fee, and collect the card after the processing period. Keep your receipt until the card is in your hand.
Every official way to track
1. The PakID app
This is the method NADRA describes on its own website. Log in, tap Tracking, and enter your tracking ID and PIN. NADRA’s contact page also says you can check the status from your application inbox in PakID. If your application was rejected, tap its tracking ID to see the reason.
As of September 2026, we found no tracking form on nadra.gov.pk itself. The site sends you to the app.
2. SMS to 8400
ProPakistani reported on 7 September 2026 that, according to NADRA, you can send your tracking ID by SMS to 8400 to check the status. Type only the tracking ID and send it.
NADRA’s website does not describe this service for identity cards. It mentions the 8400 code only for tracking cards in a refugee registration project. Treat SMS as a backup, and use the app if you get no reply.
3. The 1777 helpline
NADRA’s helpline is 1777 from a mobile, or +92 51 111 786 100. Keep your tracking ID and CNIC number ready. NADRA’s FAQ says to give both when you ask about an application.
4. Messages NADRA sends you
You do not always need to check yourself. NADRA’s PakID FAQ says:
- In Pakistan: you get an SMS when you submit the application and when your card is printed. You also get emails.
- Overseas: you get emails at four stages: PakID account registration, approval, rejection or deferral, fee submission, and card dispatch.
Check your spam folder if an email does not arrive.
What the stages mean
NADRA does not publish a full list of the status words the app shows. These are the stages its FAQ names:
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Submitted | NADRA has your application. In Pakistan you get an SMS. |
| Approved, rejected or deferred | A NADRA officer has reviewed it. If it is rejected or deferred, tap the tracking ID in the app to see why. |
| Fee submitted | You have paid. The processing time for your category starts now. |
| Card printed | Your card is made. In Pakistan you get an SMS. |
| Card dispatched | The card has left NADRA with the courier. |
Tracking by document type
- CNIC and Smart NIC: track in the app. As of September 2026, NADRA’s fee page lists Smart NIC timelines of 31 days (Normal), 23 days (Urgent) and 9 days (Executive). Fees and timelines can change. See our NADRA CNIC online guide for the full fee table.
- NICOP: track in the app. Overseas applicants also get the four stage emails. Our NICOP apply online guide covers fees by zone.
- FRC: NADRA says the Family Registration Certificate is emailed as a PDF, usually one to two days after approval, and you can download it in the app. There is no courier. See NADRA FRC online.
- B-Form (CRC): in the app, NADRA offers a fresh CRC only for children up to one year old. Older children’s B-Forms are made at a NADRA center, and the CRC is handed over there after processing.
If your card or document is late
Work through these in order:
- Check that you paid. NADRA says the timeline starts only after payment.
- Look for a message from a case officer. NADRA says most delays happen when a document is missing or wrong. The officer contacts you by email or phone.
- Upload what is asked. In the app, tap Upload Docs, enter your tracking ID and PIN, tap Get Details, and submit the document.
- Answer the courier. In Pakistan the courier calls before delivery. If it cannot reach you for 3 days, the card goes to your nearest NADRA office. Abroad, it goes to the nearest Pakistani mission.
- Collect it on time. ProPakistani reported NADRA’s reminder that a card not collected within three months of the final delivery date is destroyed, and you must apply and pay again.
- Complain if nothing moves. Use complaints.nadra.gov.pk with your tracking ID, CNIC number and screenshots, or call 1777.
If your card arrives with a mistake, complain on the same portal with a photo of the error.
Beware of fake tracking websites and agents
- Never type your tracking ID and PIN on another website. Your PIN lets people see and act on your application. NADRA says any website outside nadra.gov.pk is not official.
- In May 2026, NADRA said it has no authorised agents or consultants, ProPakistani reported. Nobody can speed up your card for cash.
- Never share an OTP or your PakID password.
- Report anyone who asks for money on the NADRA complaint portal or the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.

GoPunjab is an independent website. We are not NADRA, and we cannot see your application or its status. Always track through the PakID app or NADRA’s official helpline.
