If your Apni Chhat Apna Ghar payment is approved but stuck — for example with an “OTP error” at the bank counter — this guide explains how the loan is released, why the error happens, and the exact steps and official contacts to get it fixed.
The scheme approves your loan, and the Bank of Punjab (BOP) releases it into your account. Most payment problems are account or verification issues at the bank, not the scheme itself, so knowing who to contact saves a lot of time.
How the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar payment works
Under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme, once your application is approved, the approved amount is released through the Bank of Punjab into your account, and you get an SMS confirmation. You then complete biometric and OTP verification at the bank to access it. You can find official scheme information at acag.punjab.gov.pk.
In short: the scheme approves, the bank disburses. That is why payment and OTP issues are handled by the Bank of Punjab.
Why an OTP error happens
An OTP error at the counter usually means the one-time password could not be verified. The most common reasons are:
- The mobile number registered with your account or CNIC is old or changed, so the OTP SMS does not reach you.
- The number is correct but there is a temporary SMS or system delay.
- A biometric or data mismatch is blocking the verification step.
The good news: if the biometric counter shows the payment has arrived, the money is in the system. The OTP step is a verification gate, not the payment itself.
How to fix the OTP error, step by step
- Go to your Bank of Punjab branch with your CNIC and your approval SMS.
- Ask them to check and update the mobile number registered with your account, so the OTP SMS reaches you.
- Retry the biometric and OTP verification once the number is confirmed.
- If it still fails, ask the branch manager to log the OTP error with the bank’s technical team (a written or email record helps).
Official contacts if it is not resolved
Keep your CNIC, account number, and approval SMS ready, then use these official channels:
- Bank of Punjab (for the account and payment): UAN 111-267-200, or file an e-complaint at bop.com.pk.
- Apni Chhat Apna Ghar / PHATA (for the scheme): helpline 042-99213419 or 042-99213428, email info@phata.punjab.gov.pk.
- Still stuck? Lodge a formal complaint on the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal with your details and dates.
Stay safe from fraud
- Never share your OTP, PIN, or password with anyone — not even someone claiming to be from the bank or the scheme. Bank staff verify the OTP at the counter; they never ask for it by phone.
- Use only the official Bank of Punjab channels and the official ACAG portal.
- Ignore anyone who asks for money to “release” your payment. The loan release is free of any such fee.
GoPunjab is an independent information website; we are not the Bank of Punjab, PHATA, or the scheme, and we cannot see or release your payment. We only explain how the process works and where to get official help.
