The ad does not describe the duties, and by 15 September 2026 PPSC had not uploaded a job description or eligibility guidance for this case. The written test, though, is entirely about transport planning and transport engineering, which shows the kind of work involved.
Who this post suits
The post is built for working planners and engineers: someone with at least 3 years in transport planning or transport engineering at a government body or a registered firm, who now wants a BS-17 government role in Lahore. Fresh graduates cannot apply, because the experience must come after the B.Sc. and the age limit starts at 24, not 21 as for the Design and Environmental Legislation posts in the same advertisement. If you live outside Lahore, remember that the place of posting is fixed there.
Who can apply
- Qualification: a B.Sc. from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The ad does not name a B.Sc. subject.
- Experience: 3 years in transport planning or transport engineering with a public or private sector organization. Work done before the B.Sc. does not count, only practical experience gained after it.
- Age: a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 30, stretched to 35 for men and 38 for women by the relaxation printed in the ad.
- Domicile: Punjab.
- Gender: men, women and transgender persons are all eligible; PPSC reads a transgender applicant’s age and sex from the CNIC.
- Seats: all 6 on open merit.
The experience proof you will need
Your experience is the heart of this application, so plan its proof now. Ask each employer for a certificate of your transport planning or engineering work that makes clear it came after your B.Sc., and add up the dates to be sure they reach 3 years.
If any of those years were with a private company or consultancy, the ad’s general instructions say you must bring proof to the interview that the firm was registered with SECP, the Registrar of Firms or another regulatory authority for the whole period you claim. Without that proof, PPSC rejects the application.
Already in government service? Have your NOC or Departmental Permission Certificate in hand, or at least applied for, when you submit, and show it at the interview. Years served in the federal government or a local body do not earn any age concession.
Pay scale and job type
The ad places the post in BS-17 on a 3-year contract and prints no monthly pay figure for it. Salary numbers circulating on job blogs did not come from PPSC.

- Go to the PPSC jobs page and, under Advertisement 09/2026, choose “Assistant Director” listed for the Punjab Provincial Transport Authority as case 48J2026. The same advertisement has other Assistant Director posts, so check the department name before you click Proceed.
- Register with your CNIC and a personal email and mobile number, then generate the PSID and pay the Rs 600 fee.
- Upload your photo and CNIC, then enter your B.Sc. and a service record entry for each transport job, with dates that show 3 years after graduation.
- Submit by 21 September 2026 and note the Application Number.

PPSC had not posted scrutiny guidance for case 48-RJ/2026 by 15 September 2026, so this checklist is built from the ad and PPSC’s general instructions. Keep the originals ready for the interview:

- Matric, Intermediate and B.Sc. certificates with marks sheets; percentage, not CGPA
- experience certificates showing 3 years of transport planning or transport engineering work
- SECP or Registrar of Firms registration proof for any private-firm experience

- NOC or Departmental Permission Certificate, if you are in government service

Application fee
Rs 600 is the fee PPSC shows for case 48J2026. Once the form issues your 17-digit PSID, pay it under the GoPb biller at a 1Link member bank’s ATM or counter, through internet or mobile banking, or with JazzCash, Easypaisa or UPaisa. Challan form 32-A, pay orders, drafts and cheques are refused, and the fee is non-refundable. Payment complaints go to ppsc.gop.pk/cmsnew.
Selection process
Your B.Sc. subject does not decide the test. The ad says the one-paper MCQ test (100 marks, 90 minutes) is 100% on transport planning and transport engineering, so prepare from the field you have worked in.
- Marking: 0.25 is deducted for every wrong answer, and 40% is the qualifying score.
- Interview: PPSC normally calls about 5 top scorers per post. You need 50% to pass, and your experience records are examined closely.
- Alerts: the schedule goes up on ppsc.gop.pk at least a week ahead, with SMS and email about 5 days before telling you to download the roll number slip.
PPSC’s earlier Advertisement No. 08/2026 had other PPTA posts, such as Transport Sub Inspector and Motor Vehicle Examiner. It closed on 3 September 2026. PPSC extended it to 17 September 2026 only for applicants who had already started and paid before the original closing date, so new candidates cannot apply for those posts.

PPSC checks the proof itself, and no agent or official can get you selected. Pay nothing except the Rs 600 fee against your own PSID, trust only ppsc.gop.pk for updates, and report fraud on the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
