On 8 September 2026 PPSC put a job description for this post on its website. The main duties it lists are:
- designing crafts and products that follow current market and fashion trends
- making prototypes of local crafts for the District Industrial Home (DIH) and Sanatzar
- preparing publicity or introductory leaflets for those products
- visiting local Sanatzars
- training industrial teachers
Who this post suits
The role fits a Fine Arts postgraduate who likes turning traditional crafts into products people want to buy, and who is happy to teach. The duties mix design work with visits to Sanatzars and training sessions, so it is not purely a studio job. Fresh graduates have a fair chance because the ad asks for no experience. The catch is location: the post can be in any district, so decide before applying whether you can live away from home for a 5-year contract.
Who can apply
- Degree: a Master’s in Fine Arts with at least second division, or an equivalent Master’s degree from any recognized university.
- Age: 21 to 30 years. The ad adds 5 years for men and 8 for women, which stretches the limit to 35 and 38.
- Domicile: all Punjab basis, so a domicile from any Punjab district works.
- Gender: open to men, women and transgender candidates. For transgender applicants, age and sex follow the CNIC.
- Reserved seats: 4 for women, 1 for special persons and 1 for minorities; the other 7 are open merit.
The eligibility guidance PPSC issued for this case adds three warnings. Passing the written test does not help if you lack the prescribed degree. Your Master’s must show obtained and total marks, or come with a percentage certificate, because CGPA on its own is refused. And an “equivalent” Master’s needs an equivalence certificate from HEC or the department’s Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee (QEDC), obtained well before the test or interview.
Candidates for the special persons seat should know that PPSC’s Important Instructions allow specially abled applicants up to 15 extra years of age. Service in the federal government or local bodies, on the other hand, earns no age concession, as the ad itself notes.
Pay scale and job type
This is a BS-17 post on a 5-year contract, longer than the 3-year terms of the transport and environmental legislation Assistant Director posts in the same advertisement. The ad prints lump-sum salaries for some Data Darbar Hospital jobs but gives no rupee figure for this one, so salary numbers quoted on job blogs are guesses.
One more line in the ad matters for a 13-seat case like this: if the department later increases or reduces the number of posts, PPSC will not invite fresh applications. Do not wait for a second window.

The whole process is online. In short:
- On the PPSC jobs page, find Advertisement 09/2026 and open “Assistant Director (Design)” under the Social Welfare & Bait Ul Maal Department (case 26M2026).
- Start the form with your own CNIC, email and mobile number, since they cannot be changed later. If you are aiming for the special persons seat, answer the disability question accurately.
- Pay the fee against the PSID the form generates, upload your photo and CNIC, and enter your Fine Arts Master’s along with your earlier degrees.
- Submit before 21 September 2026 and keep the Application Number and the token that arrives by SMS and email.

- a CNIC that had not expired on the last day of online applications
- Matric or O Level, and Intermediate or A Level, certificates
- your graduation degree
- the Fine Arts Master’s (second division) with its detailed marks certificates
- a domicile issued on or before the closing date
- a Departmental Permission Certificate, for serving government employees
- for the special persons quota, a disability certificate from the Social Welfare Department’s council

Application fee
PPSC’s jobs page lists Rs 600 for this post. Specially abled candidates pay nothing, which matters here because one seat is reserved for special persons. Everyone else pays through the 17-digit PSID: pick the GoPb biller under bill payments in a 1Link member bank’s app, ATM or branch, or use JazzCash, Easypaisa or UPaisa. The money is not refunded and cannot be shifted to a different post, and old challans, drafts and cheques are not accepted.
Selection process
The ad fixes a single MCQ paper of 100 marks and 90 minutes, and says 100% of the questions will relate to the qualification. For this post that means your Fine Arts Master’s, so revise your own degree subjects rather than general knowledge.
- Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, so guess with care.
- You need 40% in the test to qualify.
- PPSC normally interviews about 5 candidates per post, so a 13-seat case produces a much longer interview list than a single-seat one. The interview pass mark is 50%, and your documents are checked there.
- The test schedule appears on ppsc.gop.pk at least 7 days ahead, and SMS and email reminders to download the roll number slip follow about 5 days before.

Beware of fake job offers
Nobody can sell you one of these 13 seats, quota seats included; only the test and interview decide. The advertisement itself says information from anyone other than PPSC’s website is not authentic, and PPSC has warned about copycat sites such as ppsc.com.pk and ppsc-jobs.com. Your only payment is the Rs 600 fee against your own PSID. If someone asks for more, report them on the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
