Who can apply

Research Assistant (2 vacancies)
- Education: MBBS with clinical research experience in the domain of cardiology or cardiac surgery.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years.
- What RIC asks for: basic experience or understanding of clinical research and data collection, familiarity with collecting data from patients in clinical trials or research studies, and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or SPSS for data entry.
- An advantage: previous research experience, especially in cardiology or clinical trials.
The work includes finding and enrolling patients in heart research studies and clinical trials, collecting clinical and demographic data, keeping research forms and study databases, entering and cleaning data in SPSS and Excel, following up with study participants, and keeping all research records confidential.
Statistician (Clinical Research) (1 vacancy)
- Education: MSc, BS or MS in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or a related field. Extra training or a certificate in biostatistics or clinical research is preferred.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years.
- Essential skill: proficiency in SPSS. Experience with R, Stata, SAS or other statistical software is an advantage.
- Also wanted: experience in clinical research, medical research or clinical trials, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and preparing research tables and figures. You should know descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, survival analysis and sample-size calculations.
The Statistician plans the analysis with doctors, cleans and checks research datasets, runs regression and survival analyses, helps with sample-size and power calculations, makes publication-quality tables and graphs, and helps write manuscripts, abstracts and reports.
Security Officer (1 vacancy)
- Who: a retired officer of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, retired at a rank not below Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col), from the Fighting Arms.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in any relevant field.
- Experience: 4 to 5 years.
- Preference: experience in security management, administration, institutional security, emergency response and supervising security staff. RIC also asks for sound physical fitness, leadership and discipline.
The Security Officer plans and runs all security at RIC: guards and duty rosters, CCTV and access control, parking and entry points, crowd control, fire and evacuation drills, VIP visits and incident reports. The job also means working with the police, Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence when needed.
Pay scale and job type
RIC shows the salary range for all three posts as “Market Competitive”. It gives no BPS grade and no rupee figure, so we cannot tell you the exact pay. Every post is marked full time and onsite, which means you work at the institute in Rawalpindi. The page does not say whether the jobs are on contract or permanent.
