PITB project director jobs 2026 are open: the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has advertised 1 Project Director post in Lahore on a contract basis, and the last date to apply is 20 September 2026. The ad carries the code MP008-2026 and the number IPL-9208-C, and PITB accepts applications only through the Punjab Jobs Portal.
This is a senior post. PITB asks for 16 years of education, at least 12 years of experience and a maximum age of 55. Below we explain who can apply, what the job involves, how to apply online, and what the ad does not say. We checked the ad and its job page on jobs.punjab.gov.pk on 15 September 2026, and the post was still open.
PITB project director jobs 2026 at a glance
PITB, the Punjab government’s IT board, wants one Project Director for Lahore. You need a 16-year degree, 12 years of experience and an age of 55 or less. The job is on contract. The ad prints no salary and no fee. You apply online only, by 20 September 2026, and only shortlisted candidates hear back.
Who can apply
The ad’s table lists four conditions: maximum age, qualification, minimum experience and location. The job page on the portal adds the degree areas and the job description.
- Education: 16 years of education. The portal lists the degree level as Masters or Bachelors (Hons), 16 years.
- Degree areas on the portal: advanced computing, business administration, communication engineering or sciences, computational science, computer engineering or sciences, computer networks, information engineering or sciences, information technology, management, project management, software engineering, management sciences, business and management sciences, management information systems, management and technology, and network engineering.
- Experience: at least 12 years. Neither the ad nor the portal says whether this must come after your 16-year degree, so enter every job in your profile with exact start and end dates.
- Age: 55 years at most, as printed in the ad. The portal job page shows an age range of 35 to 55.
- Age relaxation: the ad says relaxation will follow the Government of the Punjab’s notification. It does not print how many years, so check the current notification before you rely on it.
- Gender: the portal says both men and women can apply.
- Quotas: the ad says the Punjab government’s recruitment quota for women, persons with disabilities and minorities will be observed. It gives no figures for this single post.
- Domicile: the printed ad does not mention domicile. The portal job page, however, carries a note that a domicile is required for this position. If you don’t have one yet, see our Punjab domicile guide.
- Fitness: the ad asks for qualified, energetic, medically fit and self-motivated candidates.
- Government employees: if you work in a government or semi-government office, you must apply through proper channel.
What the Project Director will do
The portal’s job description is short. The Project Director will oversee project execution, keep the work in line with PITB’s goals, manage coordination with stakeholders, and make sure the project sticks to strict timelines and its budget. The post is also responsible for high-level decisions and for compliance with legal and technical standards.
Neither the ad nor the portal names the project this Project Director will lead. If you are shortlisted, that is a fair question to ask.
Pay scale and job type
The post is on a contract basis, and the portal lists the employment status as contract. The ad does not say how long the contract will last.
No salary, pay scale or package is printed in the ad. The portal job page shows the post at “Level 2-A”, but it does not give a rupee figure for that level. When you apply, the portal asks for your current and expected salary, so decide on a realistic figure before you start.
How to apply for PITB project director jobs 2026
PITB accepts applications only on the Punjab Jobs Portal. The ad says applications through email, fax, post, courier, in person or walk-in will not be entertained.
- Open the official job page: Project Director, PITB, on jobs.punjab.gov.pk. Check that the address starts with jobs.punjab.gov.pk.
- If you are new to the portal, click Register, enter an email address you can open, and set a password. Open the activation link that the portal emails you.
- Log in and complete the Profile Builder: personal details, CNIC, domicile, each degree with its result, and every job with its dates. If your profile is incomplete, the portal may say your profile does not match the job.
- Read the detailed eligibility and the job description on the job page once more.
- Click Apply. Enter your current and expected salary and any disability information, then submit. A green message on screen confirms it, and the portal also sends you an email and a text message.
- Finish before 20 September 2026. You can apply only once, and you cannot edit an application after you submit it.
If you work for the government, start early. You must apply through proper channel, and your office may need time to deal with that.

Documents you need
The PITB ad does not list documents to upload. Keep these ready anyway, because the portal profile asks for most of them, and shortlisted candidates are normally asked for proof:
- Your CNIC
- Degree certificates and transcripts that show 16 years of education
- Experience letters or certificates covering at least 12 years
- Your domicile certificate, since the portal job page says a domicile is required
- A recent photograph for your profile
- Any papers your office gives you for applying through proper channel, if you are a government or semi-government employee
Application fee
The ad does not mention any application fee or bank challan. Registering and applying on the Punjab Jobs Portal is free. If anyone asks you to pay to “process” your PITB application, treat it as fraud.
Selection process
The ad says very little about selection:
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for further process. The ad does not say whether that means a test, an interview or both.
- PITB can cancel or reject any application without giving a reason.
- No TA/DA (travel or daily allowance) will be paid.
- If a candidate has a criminal record, PITB can take action against them.
The portal’s own FAQ says hiring usually starts after the closing date, and that shortlisted candidates should be contacted within about a month. Keep your phone and email working, and log in to your portal account from time to time.

Beware of fake job offers
No agent, “contact” or website can get you this job. PITB will shortlist from applications made on jobs.punjab.gov.pk and nowhere else. Don’t send your CV or documents to anyone who messages you claiming to recruit for PITB, and never pay money for a government job.
