DGME assistant director jobs 2026: the Directorate General (Monitoring & Evaluation) of Punjab’s Planning and Development Board has advertised 1 post of Assistant Director (Water Supply & Sanitation) at PPS-6 in Lahore, and the last date is 20 September 2026 at 4 pm. The advertisement number is IPL-8735.
The post is for engineers. It belongs to an ADP-funded project called “Restructuring of Directorate General (M&E) for Improved Monitoring & Evaluation of Development Projects in Punjab”, and it is on contract. You apply online on the Punjab Jobs Portal and also send attested hard copies to the DG (M&E) office. We checked the ad and the portal job page on 15 September 2026, and the post was still open.
DGME assistant director jobs 2026 at a glance
One engineering post, one seat, in Lahore. You need a civil, public health or environmental engineering degree in second division, relevant experience, valid PEC registration and a Punjab domicile. The maximum age is 35. The pay is PPS-6. Apply online by 20 September 2026, 4 pm, and send your attested documents to the office.
Who can apply
The ad gives two routes. You need to meet one of them in full:
- Route 1 (18 years of education): MSc in Public Health Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, second division, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Route 2 (16 years of education): BSc (Hons) or BE in Public Health Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, second division, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Other conditions printed in the ad:
- Second division: the portal job page defines this as 45% marks and above.
- PEC registration: valid Pakistan Engineering Council registration is mandatory for engineers.
- Domicile: the ad invites applicants domiciled in Punjab, and you upload your domicile with the application. If you need one, see our Punjab domicile guide.
- Age: 35 years at most, counted on the last date of submission. The ad says this maximum already includes age relaxation, and no separate relaxation will be given. The portal shows an age range of 23 to 35.
- Experience rule: only post-qualification experience counts. The ad defines it as experience gained after the minimum qualification required for the post. Work you did before finishing that degree will not be counted.
- Gender: the portal says both men and women can apply.
- Government employees: you must apply through proper channel with a valid NOC. Applications without an NOC will not be considered.
What the Assistant Director will do
The job description on the portal, also posted on the DG (M&E) website, lists these duties:
- Monitor and evaluate complex water supply and sanitation projects.
- Take part in project planning, and coordinate with government departments, consultants and contractors.
- Help the Director (Monitoring) build work breakdown structures (WBS) with resource-loaded project activities.
- Give insight on monitoring and controlling development project activities within the “triple constraints”.
- Measure project progress through earned value analysis, to track the project’s financial and physical status.
- Handle possible delays and suggest preventive action.
- Help the competent authority procure project consultants and equipment or machinery in line with PPRA 2014.
- Write project performance reports.
- Manage monthly progress reports (ADP/PSDP), including their analysis and finalisation.
The list shows the job is mostly monitoring, project control and reporting. If you have done that kind of work, make it clear in your portal profile.
Pay scale and job type
- Pay: the ad’s “Monthly Pay Package (Rs.)” column says PPS-6. It does not print a rupee amount. If you need the exact figure before you apply, ask the DG (M&E) office.
- Contract: the ad’s opening says this ADP-funded project post is on contract basis for 2 years. Its conditions add that the post will be filled on contract for the duration of the project, under the Contract Appointment Policy 2004.
- Place of work: Lahore. The DG (M&E) office is in Johar Town.
How to apply for DGME assistant director jobs 2026
You must do two things: apply online, and send hard copies.
- Open the official job page: Assistant Director (Water Supply & Sanitation), PPS-6 on jobs.punjab.gov.pk.
- If you are new to the portal, register with an email address you can open, and activate your account from the email link.
- Complete your profile: CNIC, domicile, each degree with its division, and each job with exact dates.
- Upload the attested scanned copies of your academic certificates, experience certificates, CNIC and domicile. The ad says this is mandatory for all candidates.
- Click Apply and submit before 20 September 2026, 4 pm. The deadline is 4 pm, not midnight.
- Send attested hard copies of the same documents, with your PEC registration, to the DG (M&E) office at the address below.
- If you are in government service, apply through proper channel and include a valid NOC.
The ad gives no separate deadline for the hard copies. 20 September 2026 is a Sunday, so if you send them by courier or post, send them early. Incomplete applications, or those without the relevant documents, will be rejected.

Selection process
- DG (M&E) will shortlist candidates. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a test or interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the test or interview.
- The ad does not give a test date, syllabus or marks breakdown.
