Its advertisement IPL No. 9485, published on 10 September 2026, offers 4 contract posts under the project “Transformation of Agriculture in Thal” (2026-27 to 2028-29), run by the Directorate General Agriculture (Water Management), Punjab. Your application on the prescribed form must reach the department by 1 October 2026.
The posts are 1 Deputy Project Officer (Technical), 1 Accounts Officer and 2 Assistant Project Officers (Water Management). They need several years of project experience, and the ad prints the pay: Rs 175,000 to Rs 350,000 a month. The ad does not say where the staff will be posted. The project is for the Thal area, so ask about the duty station if you are called for an interview.
Who can apply
These conditions from the ad apply to every post:
- Domicile: only candidates domiciled in Punjab.
- Age: the maximum age is given per post below. Relaxation in the upper age limit is not admissible.
- Retired government servants are not eligible.
- Equivalent degrees: if your degree is an “equivalent” rather than the exact subject named, you must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC or a competent forum.
- Quota: no post falls under the quota reserved for women, minorities and disabled persons. The ad sets no gender condition.
Deputy Project Officer (Technical), PPS-09, 1 post
- Education: Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or Agriculture, or equivalent, with at least 2nd division.
- Experience: proven post-qualification relevant experience of seven (07) years in ADP or donor funded projects, in the implementation of agriculture development and water sector projects.
- Age: maximum 50 years.
Accounts Officer, PPS-08, 1 post
- Education: Master’s degree in Commerce or Accounting & Finance, or equivalent, with at least 2nd division.
- Experience: proven post-qualification experience of 08 years in the field of accounts in foreign or ADP funded projects or the private sector.
- Age: maximum 45 years.
Assistant Project Officer (Water Management), PPS-07, 2 posts
- Education: B.Sc Agri Engineering, B.Sc (Hons) Water Management or Agriculture, or equivalent to 16 years of education, from a university recognised by the HEC.
- Experience: five (5) years of post-qualification relevant experience, preferably in ADP or foreign funded OFWM (On-Farm Water Management) development projects.
- Age: maximum up to 50 years.
“Post-qualification” experience means work you did after earning the required degree. Work from before your degree does not count toward these years, so make sure your experience letters show clear dates.
Pay scale and job type
The ad prints a monthly project salary for each post, with annual increment:
- Deputy Project Officer (Technical): project pay scale 9 at Rs 350,000 per month
- Accounts Officer: project pay scale 8 at Rs 250,000 per month
- Assistant Project Officer (Water Management): project pay scale 7 at Rs 175,000 per month
These are contract jobs. The ad says the appointments are temporary, non-transferable, job or post specific and non-pensionable, and give no right to regularisation. The contract is initially for 1 year and can be extended up to the project period with the approval of the competent authority. If the project period is reduced or extended, the contract order will be amended. Selected candidates are not entitled to pay protection or regularisation.

The hard copy is the main route. Follow these steps:
- Download the prescribed application form (Form-1) from the Agriculture Department careers page at https://agripunjab.gov.pk/jobs. The same page links the official advertisement PDF.
- Fill in the form: the post you are applying for, the advertisement date (10 September 2026), the closing date (1 October 2026), your date of birth, age, name, father’s or husband’s name, CNIC, email, mobile number, postal address and domicile.
- Complete the qualifications table with each degree, year of passing, total marks, marks obtained, division and subject.
- Attach your CV, three recent passport-size photographs and attested copies of all documents (see the list below).
- Write the post name clearly and address the envelope to: Secretary Agriculture, Government of the Punjab, 2-Bank Road, Lahore.
- Make sure it reaches the department by 1 October 2026. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Optional: you can also apply at jobs.punjab.gov.pk, but the ad says the hard copy with complete attested documents is still mandatory.

- Punjab domicile certificate
- All degrees and certificates, with detailed marks certificates including CGPA
- Experience certificates
- Hafiz-e-Quran certificate, if any, issued by an authorised institute or madrassa recognised by the Wafaq-ul-Madaras
- Proof of any position in board or university exams, if any
- Release order from the concerned authority or institute, for ex-servicemen
- HEC equivalence certificate, if your degree is an “equivalent” one
- Three recent passport-size photographs (the form asks for them attested, one on the front and two on the back)
- Your CV

Application fee
The advertisement does not mention any application fee. Your only costs are photocopies, attestation and postage or courier.
Selection process
- Recruitment is strictly on merit on an all Punjab basis, using the selection and eligibility criteria approved in the project’s PC-I.
- Only eligible candidates will be called for a test/interview. No TA/DA is paid.
- A list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the department’s notice board 3 days before the interview, in addition to interview call letters.
- For any query, you may approach the Additional Secretary (Planning), Agriculture Department, Lahore at least two days before the interview date.
- The list of successful candidates will be displayed on the notice board, and offer letters will be issued after the Department Selection/Recruitment Committee’s recommendations are approved.
- The competent authority can increase or decrease the number of posts.

The OFWM jobs page summary calls the first post “Deputy Project Director (Technical)”, but the advertisement itself says Deputy Project Officer (Technical). Use the post name printed in the ad on your form.
Beware of fake job offers
No agent can get anyone a job in the Agriculture Department. Selection is on merit through the department’s committee, and the ad prints no fee. Do not pay anyone who promises a post, an interview call or a place on the eligible list. Send your form only to the address printed in the ad. If someone asks you for money, report it on the Pakistan Citizen’s Portal.
